The 小蝌蚪APP has gone wireless.

UWIN 小蝌蚪APP the 小蝌蚪APP Wireless Information Network 小蝌蚪APP is funded through the Student Technology Enhancement Program (STEP) and is administered by the university小蝌蚪APP檚 Department of Information Networks.

The grant established access points in selected areas of the campus that will allow students and faculty to use their laptop computers outside of traditional locations. STEP provided for the core hardware and software of the wireless service. Additional access point locations are being added to network.

UWIN administrators placed stickers denoting wireless coverage on the doors of campus buildings that are UWIN capable. Look for them: They feature an antenna tower atop the bold UWIN logo.

小蝌蚪APP淭his grant has two major impacts,小蝌蚪APP said Stephen J. Mahler, director of Information Networks. 小蝌蚪APP淔irst, it provides the campus with the necessary hardware and software to manage wireless computer network access. Second, the grant deployed our initial wireless services. For example, in Dupre Library the wireless coverage is focused on the open seating areas on all three floors.小蝌蚪APP

Buildings that have at least partial UWIN coverage include the Student Union, Dupre Library, Guillory, Stephens, Madison, Coronna and Moody halls.

小蝌蚪APP Hot spots,小蝌蚪APP those areas that receive wireless signals 小蝌蚪APP are not limited to the inside of buildings. Other 小蝌蚪APP渉ot spots小蝌蚪APP include the Quadrangle, the Swamp and the front of Dupre Library.

Wireless coverage will continue to expand to other areas on campus, Mahler said.
