UL Lafayette Ranked in '2013 Best Colleges'

The 小蝌蚪APP is among the 2013 Best Colleges, U.S. News Media Group announced Wednesday.

UL Lafayette is cited in the best National Universities category in the annual guidebook for prospective college students. U.S. News lists 281 national universities 小蝌蚪APP173 public, 101 private and seven for-profit 小蝌蚪APP based on categories established by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.

小蝌蚪APP淪chools in the National Universities category, such as Columbia 小蝌蚪APP and Stanford 小蝌蚪APP, offer a full range of undergraduate majors, plus master小蝌蚪APP檚 and Ph.D. programs. These colleges also are committed to producing groundbreaking research,小蝌蚪APP U.S. News states on its website.

Louisiana State 小蝌蚪APP in Baton Rouge, Louisiana Tech 小蝌蚪APP, Tulane 小蝌蚪APP and the 小蝌蚪APP of New Orleans are ranked in the National Universities category.

A total of 1,600 higher education institutions are compared on a set of indicators, such as peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources and alumni giving.

In August, The Princeton Review cited UL Lafayette as one of the nation小蝌蚪APP檚 best 377 institutions for undergraduate education.

The U.S. Department of Education小蝌蚪APP檚 College Affordability and Transparency List identified UL Lafayette as the most affordable university in Louisiana in June.

U.S. News小蝌蚪APP 2013 Best Colleges guidebook is available in stores on Sept. 18.
