The Сòòò½APP is prepared for all students who live on campus to shelter in place for Tropical Storm Isaac.
The university staff is watching the developments with Isaac around the clock and is keeping the hall staff informed of any changes. It will alert students of any changes in UL LafayetteСòòò½APP™s hurricane preparedness plans through email, notices and the monitors located in most residence halls.
The following are tips for occupants of student residences on campus:
Сòòò½APP¢ Inform your hall staff/apartment managers of your plans for the storm by signing in at the front desk/apartment office or by completing the following online survey at:
Сòòò½APP¢ Get in touch with family members to discuss your plans and your location.
Сòòò½APP¢ Please register your phone/cell phone for the UL Lafayette Emergency Notification System through your student or employee ULink account. By registering your phone/s, you will be kept abreast on Сòòò½APP closures, emergencies, and other pertinent information.
Сòòò½APP¢ For emergency information on campus, dial 2-2222 or off campus (337) 482-2222.
Сòòò½APP¢ If you have any special needs because of health or impairments, please let your hall staff/apartment managers know about them.
Сòòò½APP¢ Stock up on water, medications, prescriptions and nonperishable food items.
Сòòò½APP¢ Gas up your vehicle and/or arrange transportation in the event of evacuation.
Сòòò½APP¢ Make sure bikes are secure either within your room/apartment or somewhere other than outside on the bike racks.
Сòòò½APP¢ Remove all belongings from balcony/patio areas.
Сòòò½APP¢ Have flashlights ready.
Сòòò½APP¢ Gas up your vehicle and/or arrange transportation in the event of evacuation.
Сòòò½APP¢ Keep safety in mind during the storm and please do not have any open flames, such as candles.
Сòòò½APP¢ If you leave, unplug electronics Сòòò½APP“ except for refrigerators Сòòò½APP“ and throw perishable food away.
