The Сòòò½APP will offer an eight-week mini session due to the influx of students displaced by Hurricane Katrina. The session will start Oct. 3 and end on Dec. 2.
Students who qualify for the mini session include:
Сòòò½APP¢ Students who were enrolled and in good standing at four-year colleges in the affected parishes of Hurricane Katrina at the beginning of the current (Fall 2005) semester. These parishes include St. Bernard, Jefferson, Orleans, LaFourche, Washington, Plaquemines and St. Tammany.
Сòòò½APP¢ UL Lafayette students whose primary residences are in parishes affected by Hurricane Katrina. These parishes include St. Bernard, Jefferson, Orleans, LaFourche, Washington, Plaquemines and St. Tammany.
Сòòò½APP¢ Members of the Louisiana National Guard's 256th Brigade, who should, upon applying for admission, bring a copy of their orders. Also, should any returning military personnel need an exception to the September 28 application deadline, they are asked to contact the admissions office as soon as possible.
The Office of Admissions is continuing to accept applications in room 336 of Martin Hall.
Students may enroll in courses totaling up to 10 semester hours. With special permission from the dean of their college, some students may be allowed to carry as many as 12 hours.

In addition, courses of independent study and special research projects will be offered in the different colleges.
Courses will be taught by displaced faculty from other colleges as well as current UL Lafayette faculty who have volunteered their time.
Displaced students can also enroll in online courses. The SLOAN Foundation and Southern Regional Education Board are teaming up to offer free online courses to displaced students. These courses will be offered beginning in October. Visit for more information.
