Digital visual effects artist Ray McIntyre Jr. will be honored at UL LafayetteСAPPs College of the ArtsСAPP third annual Beaux Arts Ball on Friday, Oct. 5.
McIntyre's screen credits include Secretariat; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and Part 2; The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader; and The Help.
He was nominated for an Emmy Award in 1996 for HBOСAPPs acclaimed Tuskegee Airmen. In 2004, he won the Visual Effects Society Award for Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects for his work in The Last Samurai. He also won an International Monitor Award in 1998 for his work in Casper Meets Wendy.
McIntyre is a recipient of the CollegeСAPPs 2012 SPARK Lifetime Achievement Award and will be formally recognized at this yearСAPPs ball. His studio, Pixel Magic, has two locations: in Los Angeles, Calif., and on the UL Lafayette campus, in the Louisiana Center for Immersive Technologies.
The Beaux Arts Ball will begin at 7 p.m. at River Oaks Catering and Event Center, 520 Kaliste Saloom Road. ItСAPPs a fundraiser that supports the College, which includes the School of Architecture and Design, and the School of Music and Performing Arts.
The money helps meet a variety of needs, explained Margaret Kennedy-Dygas, associate dean of the College. СAPPItСAPPs used for student scholarships, student travel and productions, faculty development and recruiting.СAPP
This year's theme for the costume ball is СAPPSeeing Red.СAPP Design students will showcase masks created for the event.

СAPPThis year, we will, undoubtedly, be seeing a lot of red and really hot masks and costumes. LetСAPPs celebrate the art life of our community and paint the town red in an entirely new way!СAPP
Tickets are $75 per person or $600 for a table of eight and include a buffet dinner. Music will be provided by the UL Lafayette Jazz Ensemble. The evening will also include silent and live art auctions.
